CV
Jiangyu Li is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering,
University of Washington. Prior to joining UW in 2006, he was an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Engineering Mechanics, University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2001
to 2005. He also held visiting positions at National Taiwan University, University
of Hong Kong, and Xiangtan University. Dr. Li obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical
Engineering from University of Colorado-Boulder in 1998, and his B.E. in Materials
Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in 1994. He also did postdoctoral
studies at University of California-San Diego and California Institute of Technology.
He has won Adaptive Structures and Materials Systems Best Paper Award from ASME and
Furong Scholar Award from Hunan Province, China. His research interests cover a wide
range of active materials and structures.
